What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage works by applying pressure deep into the muscle fibres to break up knots and sore spots. It’s more of a blanket term that describes a number of different therapies, and is often used medically by physiotherapists and chiropractors. Many athletes will experience muscle soreness as they push their body physically during training. Resistance training in particular causes the muscle fibres to tear, which inflames the area and this is what hurts so much after a workout!
